About Lenetra

Lenetra King is founder and CEO of Watch Me EXCEL®, a pioneering leadership development firm that works with organizations to engage, promote and retain exceptional talent. Lenetra’s mission is to especially serve underrepresented leaders globally with tools and resources for transformational career and leadership success.

Prior to launching her company, she spent the last 15 years of her corporate career in progressively responsible hospital operations executive roles around the U.S. where her leadership was credited with improvements in employee and physician engagement, patient experience, service, and quality metrics. She also led multi-million dollar revenue growth and expense reduction performance improvement initiatives.

Lenetra used her expertise to create LeadAmplifyEXCEL®, a proprietary framework she uses as an Advisor and Executive Coach to help leaders expand capability and maximize leadership performance to drive results for their organizations.

Her passion for developing others is matched by a deep community commitment where she is an advocate for healthcare equity and the elimination of racial disparities, mental health access, youth development and education. She has volunteered for more than thirty different nonprofit organizations over the course of her adult life, and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. A passionate advocate of historically black colleges and universities, Lenetra currently serves on the Florida A&M University Foundation board of directors where she is an asset trustee of the largest public HBCU endowment in the country.

She is a nationally sought-after speaker on topics germane to career advancement and women’s/BIPOC leadership. As a Black executive, it was important to Lenetra to take the leadership lessons she learned, especially leaders of colors trying to figure out the maze of career advancement in corporate environments, and share them with others through this book.

Lenetra received a B.S. degree from Florida A&M University, a Master of Science in Health Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and a Master of Business Administration from Rockhurst University. As a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, she is board certified in Health Care Management.
